COVID-19 Protocols as of October 15, 2021
The Milan Village Arts school resumed in-person classes on May 1, 2021. To ensure the safest class environment for everyone involved, the school implemented a COVID policy that required all students, instructors and MVAS staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of class. This policy has been highly effective and the school was able to successfully run a number of classes during the spring, summer and fall of 2021. By October, the school had hoped this policy could be relaxed, but the spread of the Delta variant required changes to be postponed. Until further notice, the following protocols will remain in place.
• All instructors, students and MVAS staff are required to be fully vaccinated at the time of class. Please bring your proof of vaccination when attending class.
- Only instructors, students and staff will have access to the school during class.
- All CDC guidelines current at the time of class will be implemented, including social distancing and hand washing. As all participants are vaccinated, the wearing of masks will be at the discretion of the instructor.
- If students feel unwell prior to the class, they should not attend class. Students will receive a full refund if they are unable to attend class due to illness.
- If a student or instructor tests positive for COVID-19 in the week following the class, they should contact the school.

This class will give students the opportunity to learn and practice the copper-foil stained glass technique. It is a great class for beginners to start this art form. For those experienced with this technique, try a complicated design. On day one, students will decide on the pattern of their piece. Pattern sheets are available for use, or students can design their own pattern. There will be a discussion of glass safety and demonstration on how to use the equipment. Glass is chosen and pieces are cut using glass cutters, grinders, and saws. Then on day two, students will solder their pieces together and attach a copper wire for hanging. A patina may be applied to the solder if desired. No previous glass cutting experience is required.

Few things are as satisfying as making your own beautiful tools for daily use. Brooms have been made by hand for centuries. Students in this class will learn a simple way to create a broom from raw materials. The broom you make will last for years and you’ll never buy another at a store again. Students may bring wood for their handle or choose from those provided. However, if you do want to bring your own wood, please contact Robin first. Brooms will be between 12 and 42 inches long according to preference.
Tuition: member $90 non-member $105
Supplies: $25 – The supply fee is paid to the instructor at the conclusion of class.
Call Robin at 320-269-6176 with questions or to discuss broom handles.
