COVID-19 Protocols as of October 15, 2021
The Milan Village Arts school recommenced in-person classes on May 1, 2021. To ensure the safest class environment for everyone involved, the school implemented a COVID policy that required all students, instructors and MVAS staff to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of class. This policy has been highly effective and the school was able to successfully run a number of classes during the spring, summer and fall of 2021. By October, the school had hoped this policy could be relaxed, but the spread of the Delta variant required changes to be postponed. Until further notice, the following protocols will remain in place.
• All instructors, students and MVAS staff are required to be fully vaccinated at the time of class. Please bring your proof of vaccination when attending class.
- Only instructors, students and staff will have access to the school during class.
- All CDC guidelines current at the time of class will be implemented, including social distancing and hand washing. As all participants are vaccinated, the wearing of masks will be at the discretion of the instructor.
- If students feel unwell prior to the class, they should not attend class. Students will receive a full refund if they are unable to attend class due to illness.
- If a student or instructor tests positive for COVID-19 in the week following the class, they should contact the school.
As a student at MVAS, you can be assured that teachers will provide you the attention you need to be successful. Classes are intentionally small. Pre-registration by the Registration Deadline date is important.
If the minimum number of students do not register, the class will be cancelled at the discretion of the teacher. Please do not make final travel/accommodation arrangements before checking with the school.
Students who must cancel prior to the registration deadline posted with the class description will receive a full refund less a $10 cancellation fee to cover administrative costs. Due to meeting teacher obligations, students canceling after the registration deadline will forfeit the full tuition. However, students are encouraged to find a replacement for the class. If a class is canceled by the school for any reason, the student will receive a full refund.
If payment is not received by the registration deadline, the student will be contacted to confirm they are still attending. If payment has not been made and the student does not contact the school, the student will forfeit their place in the class.
New classes, not listed in the class schedule, may be offered throughout the year. Please contact the school or visit our website at milanvillageartsschool.org.
Emails are regularly sent out to announce upcoming classes and events. If you wish to be on either the mailing or email list, please contact the school.
The Milan Village Arts School is a tax exempt organization with the Internal Revenue Code section 501(c)3. Membership and contributions are tax deductible. Members receive a $15 discount on most classes and have access to the Framing Room, Loom Room, Studios and equipment. Students must be a current member on the date of class to receive the discount. MVAS memberships run annually from the date of receipt and help with the running costs of the school.
